Christian Glass

Hey, Hi, Hello.

I build data systems and ask hard questions about what they're actually doing.

Open to data engineering, public data, and philosophy/technology crossover work — or just a good conversation.

The Buttoned-Up Side

Data, Systems & Ethical Innovation

I study the gap between what we tell systems to do and what they actually do. My background in Philosophy and Journalism combined with a decade in Human Resources has convinced me that the "alignment problem" isn't just theoretical code—it's already happening in our organizations. I view corporate bureaucracy as a slow-motion alignment failure, and I am pivoting my career to ensure our future AI systems don't inherit those same flaws.

I focus on meeting people where they're at on their technology journey. I demonstrate to skeptical audiences the power of these tools while giving space to their dangers. I aim to enhance rather than replace human capabilities, and I've stood firm against using predictive analytics when data quality was insufficient.

My home lab is my research facility—a four-server virtualized environment where I experiment with workflow automation, RAG-enhanced AI models, and network security. My education is driven by one goal: building systems that remain robust, transparent, and beneficial to humanity.

Education

B.S. Journalism, minor in Philosophy — Northern Kentucky University. A.A. Liberal Arts — Chatfield College. An odd combination that turned out to be exactly the right preparation for thinking seriously about AI.

Small Steps Forward, Always

While logic defines my work, narrative defines my life. I believe that understanding AI requires understanding the humans who build it, and there is no better dataset for human behavior than film. Movies are empathy machines, and teach us the difference between saying the words and understanding what they mean. This philosophy shapes my approach to technology—always considering the moral patienthood and human experience behind the algorithm. My Letterboxd collection remains my most treasured dataset.

This mindfulness extends beyond my technical work. My wife and I escape annually to Red River Gorge, where we were married, to reconnect far from digital distractions. This tradition reminds me that understanding technology's place in the world requires stepping away from it occasionally.

I am a lifelong learner who believes in small steps forward. Whether I'm 3D printing terrain for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, practicing yoga, or diving into a dense philosophy text, I am driven by the desire to understand how complex stories, systems, or concepts fit together.
